Cryo-S Classic device is intended for local, rapid and efficient freezing of tissues using a wide range of contact cryoapplicators and unique spraying cryoapplicator, which with continuous cooling adjustment permits freezing of very small lesions (several cubic millimetres) as well as very large ones (several dozens cubic centimetres) by directly spraying liquid nitrous oxide on treated lesion.

Cryo-S Classic can be used both in operating theatres as well as in small surgeries. The device requires no electric power supply. All functions of the apparatus are either supplied pneumatically (from a gas cylinder) or from a battery (timer power supply).

cooling medium

The working medium for Cryo-S series devices is nitrous suboxide (N2O) or carbon dioxide (CO2), very efficient and easy to use gases. A 10 liter cylinder  serves for approximately 60 - 75 patients. In contrast to liquid nitrogen, both gases can be stored safely in steel cylinders and without losses. Expanding in the cryoapplicator's end-piece, N2O produces low temperatures down to -89C.

Gas flow in cryoapplicator is a key parameter defining cryoapplicator's efficiency. The volume of gas flowing through the cryoapplicator is measured by the flow meter. Flow is the most important parameter which indicates if the cryoprobe is in good condition. If the flow has optimal value, it means that freezing procedure will be performed effectively. Because of that, it is very important to control flow value on the indicator and flow of gas from device’s outlet. If the flow value is small, it means that cryoprobe is partly closed (i.e. with dirt or moisture) or pressure In cylinder is too low.

After the cylinder valve is opened, internal circuit of the apparatus is filled with gas under pressure: yellow 0 – 20 bar: end-piece cleaning  pressure / blue 25 – 50 bar: standard operating pressure / red 60 – 80 bar: overpressure

timer settings

The timer is used to: measure the procedure duration, indicate the pre-set procedure duration in the range from 0 to 10 minutes with beeps generated every 5 seconds, indicated time progress with beeps generated every 30 seconds
